The Dill coasters also boast a brand new technique, that of printing pattern directly onto the birch of the tray, while still being dishwasher proof and glossy. The grain in the blonde coasters is the grain of the coaster itself. 

Michael Angove graduated from Winchester School of Art with a 1st class degree. His hand drawn textile prints won him many awards including the “Liberty Print Award” and Marks and Spencer “Ground Breaking Award”. Soon after this he enrolled at the Royal College of Art and attained a Masters in Printed Textiles. In his early years he worked in Italy for atelier Jean-Paul Gaultier, Hugo Boss, Fuzzi Donna and many others before returning to London. 

Since the 1950’s, Åry have been based at the same site in Sweden, where age-old skills and innovative techniques work seamlessly together. Using only the finest birch wood from sustainable Scandinavian forests, their credentials are greener than green – they even re-use raw material waste to generate new energy for the factory.

The wood is cut from a single sheet of birch, with no knots to interrupt the fine-grained surface. Each tray is painstakingly formed by hand before a high quality finish seals in the design, ensuring dishwasher safety and a lifetime of use.
