For 16 generations and over 450 years, the Ekelund family have produced traditional Swedish textiles. Around 1850 they started to use the jacquard weaving method which uses patterns on punched cards to control the threads of the loom.
Today they have the most modern computerized jacquard looms that produce woven textiles in all the colours of the rainbow. All production still takes place in the small town of Horred Sweden, not far from the city of Gothenburg. Their beautiful textiles are adored the world over and the Ekelund family have been purveyors to the Royal Court of Sweden for over a century.
Ekelund has made major steps towards its environmental goals, and today own one of the most environmentally friendly textile factories in the entire world.
