Öjbro Swedish Mittens - Dalarna

Roll on winter, these fabulous Öjbro merino wool mittens will keep your hands toasty warm when the temperature drops.

Åse and Ted Öjbro knit their mittens using traditional Swedish folk patterns and colours - the Dalarna design features the Swedish Dala horse. Inside they are insulated with three separate layers, one being Thinsulate, a super warm patented material.

It's difficult to convey just how warm these Dalarna mittens are, but once our customers pop them on in our shop they are sold!

We highly recommend Öjbro mittens for anyone suffering from Raynaud’s syndrome.

The Nordic people have been knitting mittens for centuries, the earliest sign of knitting dates back to the 13th century.

Åse and Ted Öjbro are passionate about keeping the traditional art of jacquard knitting alive. Their striking designs are steeped in tradition, folklore and history.

The Dalarna pattern is a symbol of Sweden. Travelling in Dalarna is like experiencing Sweden in miniature. The mountains and the Sami culture, the lakes and mountains, the red cottages, the craft tradition.
