A hobby that grew...
In 1993, Nanny Glerup began crafting slippers as a hobby using wool from her own Gotland sheep. Her creations garnered such acclaim from friends and family that she decided to transform it into a small business. Initially, she could only produce two pairs a day. However, since then, she has pioneered new production techniques. Today, all Glerups models are designed in Denmark and manufactured in their own dedicated factory in Romania.
Throughout the years, Nanny Glerup, with the assistance of her husband, Ove Glerup, has meticulously honed the design, resulting in the exquisite slippers we see today.
The benefits of Glerups slippers -
Design | Shoe | Natural rubber sole |
Colourway | Cranberry wool |
Material | 100% pure wool with a natural honey rubber sole. Comfortable and soft to wear. Itch-free. |
Origin | Designed in Denmark. |
Note | Wool not only keeps you warm but also helps cool your body by absorbing moisture, up to 70% of its weight, significantly outperforming synthetic fibres. |
Useful to know | Glerups only use non-metallic and non-toxic colours when dying their wool. Hides are tanned using the most modern and eco-friendly methods. Pure felted wool may exhibit natural variations due to its inherent characteristics. |
