Whether draped artfully over the bed, an armchair, or around your shoulders, one thing is certain – Lapuan Kankurit's Punos throw will add a touch of Nordic style and warmth to your home.
Inspired by its Finnish name, 'Punos', meaning braid, Lapuan's pure new wool throw boasts a bold yet minimalist basket-weave design, in the elegant Nordic colours of beige, charcoal and off-white.
With generous dimensions of 130 x 180 cm, plus a fringe that adds a delightful finishing touch, the Punos throw is the perfect cold-weather companion as the nights draw in.
Once upon a time, there was a man named Juho Annala. The Ostrobothnian winters were freezing cold, so Juho decided to open a wool and felt boot factory in Lankilankoski. He worked so hard that year that he did not realise how important it would turn out to be: it was 1917, and in December an independent nation called Finland would be born. The years went by, the wool textiles sold well and children were born.
Nearly a hundred years later, Lapuan Kankurit is a family business that weaves Finnish quality. Felt boots have been replaced by linen, but the idea is the same: to do it right from the beginning and only the best is good enough. Each woven metre of fabric tells a story of Finnish handicraft.
